Due to our tremendous growth we are recruiting for a Senior Manager, Rewards & Benefits , reporting to theVPHuman Resources/Corporate Affairs.This position will be located in Houston, Texas.
Lead a team of experts to translate Group minimum standards for compensation, benefits, and mobility into regional procedures, aligning with business requirements of the respective Operating Model Entities (OMEs) and enabling the business to attract, retain and motivate key talent.Design, coordinate and implement region specific reward policies in a cost effective manner and with buy-in from all stakeholders. Provide input into group reward submissions and policy designs. Participate in region specific reward and benefit surveys, analyze survey reports and make informed recommendations to the group reward function and/or the OME. Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the compensation, benefits and mobility specialists and integrate effectively with group specialists as well as similar roles in other international regions.
Position Responsibilities: Manages Total Rewards and Global Mobility for North American region. Performs strategic design and management of region specific compensation and benefits programs within compliance oflegislative jurisdictions and ensures direct pay programs are competitive within specific industry markets to support the attraction and retention of employees for regional operations. Translate group minimum standards into regional procedures, addressing requirements on local issuesrelating to reward, benefits and mobility matters. Develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders in other regions as well as COEs and provide timely, relevant and quality input into the design of group wide reward plans. Design and implement region specific reward policies and plans, includingregion specific recognition, retirement, health & wellness and mobility plans and procedures. For this, a sound understanding of the regionas well as the labor market is required. Coordinate and execute selected regional programs, e.g. annual increase and incentive exercises, implementation of new variable pay plans, design of annual STI plans, merit and retention awards,benefit design, etc. Participate in North American reward, benefits & mobility surveys and analyze survey reports to ensurealignment with internal practices to the external market and make sound and creative recommendationsto the COE. Use information to design U.S. pay bands as well as the design of region specific variable pay plans. Coordinate and provide job evaluation services to clients. Maintain executive compensation/benefit supplemental (or excess) plans in compliance with U.S. non-qualified benefit or compensation arrangements. As Secretary of Benefits Administration Committee (BAC), advises senior management committee members on fiduciary responsibilities and function of the committee as designated Plan Sponsor of all Sasol (USA) benefit plans. Prepares BAC meeting agendas and presentations, while strategizing, analyzing and developing employee benefit plan proposals to present to the senior management leadership team for either approval or concurrence and further recommendation to the BAC or Board of Directors, in keeping with Sasols governance policies. Ensures all documentation relevant to the fiduciary role of the BAC is maintained properly in accordance with regulatory scrutiny by federal government agencies. Advises Sasol Canada Pension Committee accordingly in the Province of Alberta, Canada. Provide reward and benefits specialist support act as rewards and benefits knowledge pool for North AmericanHR team & provide support perHR requests, specifically with regard to ensuring market related, competitive reward practices. Manages international mobility team in theNorth American region to ensure compliance with Sasols global relocation and assignment policies for various types of expatriate assignments into or outside of North America. Work closely with U.S. tax advisors in regards to expatriate employees tax obligations in various jurisdictions being handled expeditiously and in accordance with the various internal revenue agencies.
Experience and/or Educations Requirements: Bachelors Degree (BA or BS) required Masters Degree is a plus CCP, GRP and CBP, Global HR Certification, and/or CEBS Certification preferred Minimum 12 years work experience in HR, predominantly in specialized functions of Compensation, and Benefits (Total Rewards) Requires 5 years HR experience in a corporate headquarters environment interacting with all levels of management, particularly in international/global companies either U.S.-based or foreign-owned in North America. Track record of successful reward delivery in a matrix environment including the management of teams of reward & benefit specialists Sound multi-functional stakeholder management and engagement capabilities Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and formal presentation skills Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, particularly with multi-cultural employees and management Demonstrated knowledge of ERISA regulations and legal disclosure requirements for employee benefit plans and extensive work experience with various types of benefit plans and programs including both defined benefit and defined contribution plans Demonstrated knowledge of various types of job evaluation systems and competitive market pay practices
