Job Description

The Commercial District Manager is a key sales manager who is responsible for achieving team sales goals within their district. The CDM must develop plans and budgets based off of the Regional District Sales Director s sales strategies to achieve goals of increasing HVAC product sales.

The CDM is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the field sales organization. The CDM works with the District Sales team to review sales agreements to either approve or reject them based on factors such as profitability. They may be involved in selling responsibility in key accounts, handling customer issues or roadblocks, and providing guidance to be competitive in the marketplace. Additionally, the CDM is responsible for setting pricing practices for both commercial and residential district sales efforts regarding commercial product and recommending proper inventory levels for the CLDCs and LPP stores within their respective district. The CDM coaches and mentors sales representatives to achieve sales goals while practicing margin control.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Builds and develops an effective team to demonstrate qualifications of a strong leader
  • Develops local marketing plans for the continuous promotion of Lennox Commercial
  • Establishes market competitive prices and develops market specific price books
  • Implements effective employee relations strategies to aggressively preserve talent
  • Conducts Inventory planning to ensure proper stocking targets in their district
  • Trains and coaches the related residential districts on selling commercial products
  • Quickly removes barriers that affect the sales field



  • Successful, 8+ year track record in customer relations, business management, and sales
  • Bachelor s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experiences. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Track record of providing customer service which includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • The ability to balance local market considerations with the overall corporate priorities of the business


  • Substantial industry and product knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services which includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good management skills, with emphasis on people development
  • Understanding of the business impact of sales contracts and selling expenses


  • Expert ability with building relationships, listening, persuading, negotiating and managing time
  • Outstanding cross-functional leadership skills; viewed as credible by business unit/functional leaders
  • Willingness to listen and learn with team members to optimize performance
